Story: Karthik (Nani) and Vishnu (Karthik) and Revathi( Nitya Menon) are childhood friends. They live in a slum area. Karthik and Revathi love each other. Vishnu falls flat for a prostitute Vani(Bindu Madhavi). Karthik is not interested in illegal activities but Vishnu forces him, one day both get trapped in a drug peddling deal. What happens after that? What are the twists and turns that take place forms the story?

Performances: Nani has done fantastic job. Nitya doesn’t have much scenes other than songs, she is okay. Karthik is okay as friend. The supporting actors have done decent job. The Music is okay. The Background Score is good. Cinematography is fine. Story is okay. Screenplay is okay in the first half but it dragged towards the climax. Direction is okay.

Analysis: SEGA is the dubbed version of Tamil film VEPPAM(releasing the same day).Gautham Vasudev Menon has produced this film in Tamil by introducing his assistant Anjana Ali khan as Director. The hit pair (Nani-Nitya Menon) of “ALA MODALINDI” fame is back with this film. The movie takes place mostly in the slums and footpaths only. The director has used darkness for realistic look for most of the Scenes.
Nani has come up with some realistic performance; he suited well to the role (looks rugged) of happy go lucky boy who shows interest in studies. The love thread between Nani and Nitya is okay. The onscreen Chemistry between the pair is good. Karthik who has donned the role of hero’s friend has done reasonably good job. His chemistry (especially in a song) with Bindu Madhavi was also good. The actor who has done the role of Nani’s brother (Muthu kumar) is okay but he is too rigid in many Scenes. The remaining supporting cast delivered the required performances.

Music by Joshua Sridhar (PREMISTHE fame) is okay with a couple of good songs. The background Score is good. The two songs before the interval come in a quick succession which kills the feel. Editing by Anthony is good and crisp- editing adds pace to the script The Cinematography is good. The color grading and DI has given the movie a different look all together. Story may be realistic but the screenplay could have been better. Its okay in the first half, but the second half (later part) is too predictable. Direction is good in some places.

The climax fight appeared funny. The entertainment part is missing; the movie progresses in a serious mode. Most of the frames looked earthy and rusty. Some how the film gives a feel of watching a ‘B’ Grade dubbed film. Nani may score some marks as an actor but it’s hard to digest such films by Telugu entertainment lovers.

Plus: Performances, realistic approach
Minus: Entertainment, Second half narration (lacks grip)

Verdict: Below Average, Serious Movie Lovers can give a try others can avoid.
